DEVELOPMENT
On Monday, June 10, 2024, The District of Saanich unanimously approved Uptown’s final fourth phase, a 24-storey, 318-unit, market rental residential tower with 24,361 square feet of commercial space to anchor Uptown Boulevard.
The neighbourhood community of Uptown took time to provide valuable feedback and important discussion points which attributed to the successful approval. Uptown would also like to recognize the efforts of The District of Saanich staff, Mayor and Council on their work for the approval of the project. Adding rental homes will help support the need for rental housing in the market and create a complete community where you can live, work, shop and gather.
The vibrancy you feel while visiting Uptown will carry through the new building to include best practices in Operations such as placemaking, landscape and security. The design will include elevated connectivity points from the Galloping Goose trail, Ravine Way through to Uptown Boulevard.
The Uptown Douglas Corridor Plan will add density and change the current landscape. Uptown is a key partner with BC Transit and the two municipal and provincial bodies that oversee the crossroads of Saanich, Blanshard and Highway 1. Uptown will continue to work closely with these partners to address areas of concern in traffic patterns before they arise.
