Our Top Priority is your health and well-being. Here at Uptown, we are taking a phased approach in accordance with recommendations from the government and BC Health Authority. With our shoppers and retailers in mind, we are taking every precaution to respect physical distancing requirements as well as implementing the highest of standards in cleaning protocols.
With our retailers and shoppers in mind, Uptown will be maintaining reduced hours of operation. It is important to note that certain retailers and offices have decided to remain closed or operate under different hours, please check with retailers directly, or visit the COVID19 Store Directory page.

Monday – Saturday 11AM – 6PM
Sunday 11 – 5 PM
The following precautionary steps have been implemented to ensure Uptown remains a safe and healthy place for all guests.
When visiting Uptown, we encourage you to follow these guidelines to keep yourself and others safe while visiting.
- Wear protective masks and use sanitizing stations provided.
- Maintain a 6-foot distance from other shoppers.
- If you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue, discard it immediately, wash and sanitize your hands.
- Try to avoid touching your face, eyes and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Thoroughly wash your hands on a frequent basis with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
- Stay home if you have a fever or cold, or any flu-like symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose or body aches.
A portion of Uptown Boulevard has been allocated as a Pedestrian walkway to provide guests the proper spacing to practice physical distancing. Pedestrians are encouraged to walk along Uptown Boulevard, leaving the sidewalks available for retailer line-ups. Uptown Boulevard will remain closed from Famous Footwear to The North Face. Vehicular access to the Boulevard will be limited to the Carey Road and Douglas Street entrances.
SHORT TERM PARKING
Parking on Uptown Boulevard is limited to 15 minute and 1 hour parking stalls on the Douglas side of the Boulevard and the North end of the Boulevard (Carey Road entrance).
Accessible parking stalls on Uptown Boulevard are best accessed from the Douglas Street entrances and Carey Road entrance. Additional spaces on the main level can be found in L1 Green parking area. All accessible parking stalls in the multilevel parkade are located adjacent to elevators, providing access to all levels of Uptown. Signage and Ramps connecting sidewalks to Uptown Boulevard have been installed, allowing more space for pedestrians and people with disabilities to practice physical distancing. You will find several pieces of signage throughout the property directing guests onto Uptown Boulevard, outlining safe shopper guidelines, physical distancing markers and directives for physical distancing in high traffic areas such as elevators, washrooms and retailers lineups.
Sanitizing dispensers have been positioned at main entrances and in busy common areas. Spaced out benches and tables have been placed along Uptown Boulevard to provide seating while promoting physical distancing. Touch points and high traffic areas will be sanitized frequently throughout the day; including, but not limited to, ATM machines, door handles, elevators, escalators, garbage cans, handrails, washrooms.
Restrooms are closed hourly for 15 minute periods to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. To promote physical distancing within the restroom, signage encouraging hand washing has been placed at every other sink.
ELEVATORS AND ESCALATORS
Guests using the elevators on site are encouraged to limit ridership. Please follow the guidelines outlined on the elevator doors. Physical distancing markers will be placed on all escalators for guests to properly maintain their distance.
At this time, our Guest Services office remains closed. All services and amenities offered at Guest Services including Gift Card sales, BC Transit passes, stroller and wheelchair loans are currently unavailable. The Water Feature in Town Plaza will remain off to promote physical distancing.
Visible markers have been placed on the sidewalk outside of retailer storefronts for line formation.
